It pays to sign up and use stores rewards cards. I shopped for free today at Toys R Us. In December they had a double your rewards promo going on. I just received my rewards in my email last week. I bought 1 bottle of Dreft 27.99 and 2 bottles of Baby Magic lotion and didn't pay a dime !
Next I went to staples to use my Staples Rewards from last month. I bought dry erase markers,crayons, dvds, tape dispenser and didn't owe a thing after rewards.
I stopped by cvs next and got 2 nail clippers and estroven and paid 70 cents tax.
