Because of the Digital TV (DTV) transition that was finalized on June 12, 2009, all full power television stations converted to an all-digitalbroadcast which offers some of the best picture qualities possible. It is important not to confuse OTA DTV with analog broadcasts from the past. OTA DTV provides high definition broadcasts, sub-channels (more channels!), digital resilience and no static.

I tried the Leaf Plus in our home. It did increase our channels by 10. We took it on our recent camping trip to give it a try. It really did great there. The tv started with 11 channels. Once The Leaf was attached we scanned and got 39 channels ! I'm tired of paying high cable costs and i'm considering dropping it completely. I like getting the channels for free ! Now if I could just get free internet too ! The Leaf Plus is super easy to connect to the tv. Anyone can do it.

Definetly move it around the room and rescan. I found more channels in different parts of the room.

USB powering option, unlike anything else. The Leaf™ Plus gives you a USB power injector at the end of the antenna cable to provide power to the amplifier in the antenna housing. This power injector uses a mini-USB connector. You can power the amplifier using the supplied power cube and USB cable or plug the USB cable into a USB port on your TV, if it has one. The advantage of doing this is that the amplifier will only be powered when the TV is turned on, eliminating parasitic power consumption when the amplifier isn’t needed.

Better design, better technology… The amplifier in the Leaf™ Plus provides 10-15 dB of gain across all TV channels and has the lowest noise figure possible. By placing the amplifier directly at the antenna we minimize noise and signal loss due to cable losses and maximize efficiency by matching the amplifier to the antenna. And just like the original best-selling Leaf, the Leaf Plus is black on one side and white on the other to match any room's color.

Some manufacturers place their amplifiers at the TV. But the losses in the coaxial cable between the antenna and the amplifier degrade the signal strength and add additional noise to the signal. The amplifier can then only amplify the noise and the signal. The amplifier belongs where we put it - right at the antenna, where it can amplify the signal before the cable loss can affect it. Placing the amplifier at the antenna, it also makes it possible to locate the Leaf Plus further from the TV using the Mohu Leaf extension cables.

Turkey Burgers & Rainbow Salad

Serves 4

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients:

· 1 lb. ground turkey

· 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

· 1 egg

· 1 Tbsp. fresh basil, (or ⅓ Tbsp. dried) chopped fine

· 1 cup mushrooms, washed/dried, sliced

· ½ medium sweet onion, sliced

· 2 Tbsp. butter

· 4 slices, deli style mozzarella cheese (¾ oz. each)

· 1 large tomato, sliced

· 4 whole grain burger buns

Directions:

1. In large bowl, mix breadcrumbs, egg, basil, and salt. Once mixed, add ground turkey and mix well. Make patties about the size of the bun.
2. In frying pan, on medium/high heat add butter, mushrooms and onions and cook about 10 minutes until tender and brown. Turn heat to low and keep warm.
3. Pan-fry or grill, on medium heat, burgers until firm (about 4-5 minutes a side).
4. Assemble bun with burger, cheese, tomato and onion/mushroom mixture.

Serves 4

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

· 1 apple, cored, sliced

· 4 rainbow peppers, seeded, sliced

· ½ mango, skinned, diced

· ½ fresh lemon, juiced

· 2 Tbsp. olive oil

Directions:

1. Thoroughly toss apples, peppers, mango, lemon juice and olive oil in a bowl.
2. Season with salt and pepper, as desired.

Car Wash Time !

B loves to play in the water outside. His favorite thing to do is play with his car wash. It was almost 90 degrees the other day, so we got the Car Wash out. He definitely needed sunscreen on. I really think Coppertone Water Babies is the best. It's amazing that it lasts so long while swimming or water play. I also love how easy it is to apply with the foam.

Lightening Bugs-firefly craft

We love chasing lightening bugs in the summer. I found this adorable craft on theguyerfamilyblog. It was cute , I had to make some. Aren't they adorable ? I used battery operated tealights in the egg. I just hot glued it so it didn't roll around. It flickers too ! I used a tiny drill bit to make the holes for the antenna and legs. His wings are duct tape.
