I've been researching smart phones and couldn't decide which one i'd like to try. It can be overwhelming getting a new phone these days. They can be overly complicated. I was super excited when Windows suggested I try the Samsung Focus. I read a bit about it and couldn't wait to get it. I immediately connected it to my wi-fi at home and had my email & facebook set up. It only took seconds ! This is my first smart phone too.It is so user friendly. I'm in LOVE with the Samsung Focus ! I don't know how i've survived without one now. Well, one reason is i'm too thrifty to spend a fortune on a cell phone plan.

It pays to sign up and use stores rewards cards. I shopped for free today at Toys R Us. In December they had a double your rewards promo going on. I just received my rewards in my email last week. I bought 1 bottle of Dreft 27.99 and 2 bottles of Baby Magic lotion and didn't pay a dime !
Next I went to staples to use my Staples Rewards from last month. I bought dry erase markers,crayons, dvds, tape dispenser and didn't owe a thing after rewards.
I stopped by cvs next and got 2 nail clippers and estroven and paid 70 cents tax.

Udi's Gluten Free Foods = Good !

I've read a lot about Gluten free foods but, I haven't tried any until now. I had the opportunity to review a great selection of Udi's Gluten Free Foods. My family has been impressed by the taste and quality of the cookies and breads we've tried. So far the favorite in our household is the Snickerdoodle cookies. They are Yummy. I don't notice anything missing in the food. I didn't really know what to expect. I wouldn't have known the difference by the taste. We made our own pizzas with their gluten free pizza dough and they were great. We also enjoyed their blueberry muffins. I'd like to try the chocolate chip cookies next. They have a nice selection of bagels,buns,cookies and more. If you want to find Udi's Gluten Free foods go to there website and put in your zipcode and they'll show you the nearest store that carries Udi's.

Bathroom Update 75.00 !

Our tiny bathroom used to be a closet. I spent about 60.00 on the Tile & materials; grout, morter. I found the new mirror for 15.00. It was a miracle as it's a really odd size there. I spray painted the toilet paper holder,towel holder with hammered bronze. I still need to spray the light fixture to match. My husband did all the tile for me. I love the way it turned out. It definetly updated the tiny space.

I can't decide on a paint color for my kitchen. I just painted and glazed my cabinets and had a new floor installed. So, I decided to add some color with some Polka Dots. These are vinyl transfers. They only cost 26.00 If I get sick of them or find the color I want they come right off. I hope to get tin ceiling panels next. Anyone have any paint color suggestions ?

Dollar General shopping & coupon issues

I was excited to see that they changed their policy so you can use one Dollar General coupon & manufacturer coupon. But, apparently their system is not set up for this yet. I made two trips to get my All detergent and both times the computer would only take 1 coupon off. My cashiers were nice , but they didn't think I could use 2 coupons for one item. They did try though and it would only take one. It was still only 2.00 for a bottle of All, but I really hoped the deal would work out. Dollar General had All on sale for 3.25 and they had a 1.50 DG coupon to print so stacked with a 1.00 off manufacturers coupon it should have only been 1.00.Hopefully they get with the program and their systems will allow both coupons and the cashiers will know the policy. I find that so often using coupons. The stores employees don't know the policy and often just tell you they can't do it.

The Dollar General coupon policy states, “Maximum of two coupons per item. One coupon must be a Manufacturer’s Coupon and the second coupon must be a Dollar General Coupon as long as neither coupon states that it is not valid with other coupons”

I'm so happy to be rid of that green ceramic tile ! What was I thinking when I http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifpicked that out ! It was horrible to clean and the grout drove me crazy. We went over the top of it with Allure traffic master flooring. After some research I decided to go with Allure Flooring from Home Depot. I looked at laminate, but I've read some horror stories of it warping. We have lots of spills in our kitchen. DH put the floor in for me. He did a great job. Allure flooring is water resistant which was very important for us. You wouldn't know that it's not real wood. I chose the cherry color. It's a very affordable option. Mine was 1.79 sq ft. It cleans easily too.You can see my Cabinet Transformation here I really want to put in tin ceiling panels next.

I've had a picture hanging over this hole in my kitchen wall forever. Instead of making it a big project to rip the paneling out, I decided to make it look better.
I took 4 Cork Tiles and cut them to size.(DH actually cut them cause I can't cut straight ) Used an old curtain I had on hand. Sprayed it with spray adhesive. Stapled it to the wall. Added ribbon to the top and bottom to hide the staples. I hung Xmas Cards on it now, but I'll use it for memo's, pictures,etc. It looks a lot better !

3 cups Corn Chex® cereal
3 cups Rice Chex® cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex® cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup bite-size pretzels
1 cup garlic-flavor bite-size bagel chips or regular-size bagel chips, broken into 1-inch pieces
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1. In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
2. Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
Oven Directions Heat oven to 250°F. In large bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In ungreased large roasting pan, melt butter in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in cereal mixture until evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.
